Our girl Jude of I Speak Bike, takes the new Bern London helmet on a sight-seeing tour…
Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner, that I fricken LOVE London town. Rather than wear my heart upon my sleeve I’ve been wearing it on my head in the form of the Bern London helmet.
People often ask if I get bored cycling the same routes day in and day out. How could I possibly tire of this amazing city, it’s constantly changing so every day I see something new. Best of all, I get to ride past all these amazing sights that people travel from all over the world to come and see.
Nelson’s Column on Trafalgar Square commemorates Admiral Horatio Nelson who died in the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar. The whole monument is 51.6 metres tall. That is just over 31 Victoria Pendletons.
The Mall leads from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham palace. The tree lined road is where the London Marathon finishes. Every Sunday it is closed to traffic so a perfect place to go ride your bike.
Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms including a chapel and swimming pool. If the flag is up, it means the Queen is in.
Wellington Arch is hollow inside and is home to The Quadriga Gallery which hosts exhibitions. Until the 1990s it was a small Police Station.
The most famous London sight, Big Ben is just the name of the bell, the clock tower is really called the Elizabeth Tower.
Can you believe this has been around (and going around) for 15 years! It has spokes and a hub so is really just a massive bike wheel.
‘Make a guard laugh’ is on many tourists To Do lists. These guys are members of the mounted regiment of the Household Cavalry and if we are talking serious headgear, their helmets are pretty enviable. No he wouldn’t swap. Or laugh.
