As my son now cycles on his own more often, and with the days getting shorter, I was getting nervous and thought it was time to pimp his bike and make him as visible as possible.
Browsing our light selection I realised that in addition to normal front and rear lights, the Hikari BikeHalo lights would light him up like a disco ball: nobody would miss him.
So on Saturday morning I started “decorating” his bike. You have to start with the central part on the axel. It attaches very easily with the tiny plastic straps.
You then twist the thread around a spoke and secure it at the end with a strap.
Now start weaving. Once all the straps have been used, you can cut off the excess.
The whole process took me around 20 minutes.
The only frustration was that we had to wait until evening to see the bike in its full glowing glory, but having seen my son riding on our road that night, I felt reassured in the knowledge that nobody would miss him. Not that I am not nervous about letting him go but that’s another matter altogether…
Here is a video showing the result.
