The aim of this policy is to inform you of how we collect, use and store your data and how we adhere to the GDPR policy that came in to play on 25th May 2018. How we use your data and why

When you place an order with us we take the following details:

·       Your name – so we know what to call you and for safe delivery of your order.

·         Email address – so we can email you order updates.

·         Delivery address – to ensure we get your order to you safely.

·         Telephone number – we’ll only call if we have a question or problem regarding your order.

·         Credit card details and billing address – we only ask for these when you place an order, we do not store them. They are handled by a secure payment processor. See Security Policy below.

We use this data for legitimate reasons – to get your order to you safe and sound – and will only contact you if there is a problem or a question we need to ask you about your order.

Your name, address and email address are shared with our mailing centre, Compete Mailings, on a secured online despatch log. Complete Mailings uses this data to pack your order and dispatch it to you. Complete Mailings complies with GDPR and only uses your data to despatch your order. It does not store it or use it for any other purpose.

We will not use your contact details to send you marketing information unless you have opted into our newsletter.

We will not share your information with any third parties.


How we store your data and for how long

Your data, as described above, will remain on your account unless you choose to edit or delete it (see how to edit and delete my data below). This data can only be accessed by you and by authorised members of staff here at Cyclechic.

We will store your name, address, email address and order details on our despatch log for one year. This is so we can provide the best service possible and answer any questions you have about your order after you have placed it. The despatch log is secured online and can only be accessed by authorised members of staff at Cyclechic and Compete Mailings.

If you want your details taken off the despatch log after you have received your order, email us at and we will delete them.

We use a password-protected Dropbox account to secure the despatch log, and your account details are held on our website which is hosted by Digital Ocean in the UK.


How to edit and delete your data

You can log in to your account by going to ‘My account’ (top right on the homepage). Here you can view and edit your details. If you want to delete your account, go to:

My account > Edit > scroll down to the bottom and press the delete button.

Cyclechic makes use of cookies (small text files stored on your computer) to enhance the functionality of this website for the user. The first-party cookies set directly by this website contain no personally identifiable information but are used to maintain the state of your session on the site. Necessary functionality such as logging in and using your shopping basket are made possible in this way.



We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised statistics about how our customers use the website. This helps us to improve our service to our customers.

 Although Google only receives a masked/anonymised version of your IP address, Google may still set cookies to track your usage of the Cyclechic site. We cannot control these cookies, but you can by taking control of your cookie management. Read how at

Once enabled using our cookie settings (below) we use ShareThis to provide a page-sharing service that allows customers to quickly share Cyclechic product pages with their friends on social networks such as Facebook and Pinterest. Again, we cannot control cookies set by ShareThis, but you can. Once enabled using our cookie settings (below) we use a Facebook Pixel to track some user behaviour. No personal or identifying data is sent from us to Facebook, and Cyclechic cannot access any personal data that Facebook has collected from you, or your friends & family. However Facebook themselves will be able to identify you by name if you have previously used your device (computer, phone, tablet) to log in to their website. Facebook will also use cookies to continue to track your activity on the Cyclechic website, across any other website that uses the Facebook Pixel and across Facebook itself. Our Payment Service Provider is Sage Pay is the largest independent payment service provider (PSP) in the UK and Ireland. Sage Pay provides a secure payment gateway (Level 1 PCI DSS), processing payments for thousands of online businesses, including ours. It is Sage Pay’s utmost priority to ensure that transaction data is handled in a safe and secure way.

Sage Pay uses a range of secure methods such as fraud screening, I.P address blocking and 3D secure. Once on the Sage Pay systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards.

Sage Pay is PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant to the highest level and maintains regular security audits. They are also regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure that their systems are impenetrable.

Sage Pay is an active member of the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) that defines card industry global regulation.

In addition, you know that your session is in a secure encrypted environment when you see https:// in the web address, and/or when you see the locked padlock symbol alongside the URL.

So when buying through our site, you can be sure that you are completely protected.



You have the option to opt in to our newsletter when you check out, or you can subscribe to get a 10% discount on your first order via a pop up on the homepage.
