Is ‘ride more’ one of your New Year’s resolutions? We have ten great reasons why it should be:
1. You can avoid the commuter crush and enjoy your coffee in peace. You don’t have to deal with people on the tube sneezing on you, putting their armpit in your face.
2. You can legitimately eat a second breakfast (elevensies, brunch, second lunch, second dinner, midnight snack….)
3. You get personalised DIY manicures.
4. You’ll become super agile from negotiating the corridor obstacle course of bikes.
5. You get to hang out in the bike shed and reminisce about what it was like to be one of the cool kids at school.
6. You have an excuse for a bad hair day. Helmets, cycling caps, or just wind blown, it’s great to have an excuse to not care about your hair.
7. Cycling around is a great way of sneaking exercise into your daily routine. You get to avoid the gym (and people who go to the gym).
8. You can load up your bike and not have to worry about carrying lots of bags. We have carried Christmas trees home on bikes and moved house many times with stuffed baskets and panniers.
9. You get to hang out at traffic lights with like minded people, admire each other’s gear and shout ‘TWINS’ to anyone who has something the same as you.
10. You get to be outdoors and see more of this beautiful world.
