I come from a family of architects and although I chose a different path, I’ve always loved great design. Here are my picks for design lovers.
The simplicity of the design is perfect. I love that the colours they are using are a reference to Braun and their influence on product design in the 20th century. The cream helmet is the same colour as this record player my parents had when I was growing up.
And the lines… they remind me of the Guggenheim Museum, and this helmet is actually sold at the Moma in New York, the ultimate confirmation of a classic design!
Full disclosure, I own three of these and switch between them like I switch handbags. They look great, and they’re ever so practical: perfect.
The attention to detail is amazing. Sure it’s a rain cape, but it’s more than just that: it’s beautifully made, the piping is reflective, and it hangs really well on and off the bike so you can wear it rain or shine.
I like tools (I’m weird like that) and have always enjoyed building Ikea furniture (I did say I was weird) and these are great. Each key size is a different colour, so they look funky, and they’re easy to spot in the toolbox too.
This year I’ve been obsessing over geometrical patterns… and that includes bike bells.
Every time Bookman brings something new to their range, I do a little dance. I love all their products but this one in particular.
It’s cute, simple and I have no doubt that if Mies Van der Rohe were still around, this would be his choice of bike light 🙂
Happy shopping fellow designer conscious cyclists!
