Do you remember when one of these guys used to stare up at you from your cereal?
Reflective cycling gear has come along way since that Kellogg’s breakfast of champions. Here at Cyclechic HQ we pride ourselves in offering cycling gear that doesn’t shout out that you are a cyclist but can fit in with everyday life so when you say ‘I cycled here’ people are genuinely surprised. In simple terms we love things that are bikey without being all in your face about it.
Reflective accessories are perfect in our book as they look normal during the day but when it’s dark the reflective element illuminates when light hits it. It’s the ultimate be-seen-look and is perfect if you aren’t a fan of hi-vis neon.
With that in mind let us introduce you to some brand new cycling accessories that have reflective elements so you’ll been seen in the dark but blend in in real life. Perfect for the stylish cyclist.
We recommend listening to this in the background while you read this post:
The need for tweed
When we tried this jacket on we knew we had to have it in our range. Yes it’s a bit pricier than our other jackets but it is a timeless classic that is so stylish and is the ultimate versatile work-to-play piece. British made herringbone tweed made from naturally temperature-regulating luxury wool with reflective fibres, Teflon water repellent finish, specifically tailored with adjustments and features to suit the movement of cycling. This is a winner. Also, we know it’s early but we are already thinking about our Tweed Ride outfits.

All good in the snood
Aka eternity scarves, snoods are great for cycling because you don’t have to worry about them falling off of getting caught on anything like you may with a scarf. Available in two colourways these snoods are made from Scottish lambswool with reflective yarn sewn in and double layered for extra coziness.

Frill seekers
Seriously, how cute are these socks? Available in pink or grey, these are guaranteed to add a feminine touch to any outfit. We’ll be wearing them between tights and brogues this winter. The lace frill has reflective trimming that will catch the light as you pedal round and round.

Zip it
Last year’s best seller is back in a new colourway. Fleece lined and windproof with super reflective zip detailing. We like this because it is a bit sporty with some contemporary twists and it goes in at the waist so gives you some shape.

Head hugs
We have been keeping it local with these amazing bobble hats that are handmade in London. Acrylic so they are fast drying with a woolen pompom. Reflective tape is knitted in so it is discreet until it hits the light. Available in two sizes and two colours. And how amazing are the colours? Come on.
Jacket of all trades
This jacket has ALL THE THINGS. It’s all over reflective so looks like a subtle greyish silver jacket but when you are cycling at night and the light hits it, it looks magic all over. Also if you are cycling during the day and want to do the whole hi vis thing you can just wear it inside out. Oh and it’s also waterproof, breathable and has a bunch of zip up pockets. GENIUS.
