It’s that time of year again. The streets are about to get a lot more stylish as Tweed Run hits London on Saturday 14th May. If you are lucky enough to have a ticket you probably already have your outfit sorted (right?), if not you can still get tickets to the closing ceremony or just dress up and ride around where ever you are. Tweed is always cool in our book. Here are some of our pictures from last year showing some things you can expect to see. We have also included some of our favourite Cyclechic suggestions.
Tweed Jackets
Tweed Meame Maia Reflective Blazer £260
This tweed jacket is beautifully tailored, water resistant, reflective and probably makes a great cup of tea (disclaimer: it doesn’t).
Gloves
Retro Crochet Cycling Gloves £14.99
We couldn’t show more love for a glove. We are madly in love with our vintage style crochet cycling gloves. The soft padded leather makes them super comfortable for longer rides.
Headwear
Headwear is perfect for adding a finishing touch of tweed to an outfit. If you have a Yakkay helmet or are getting one, we have some great covers that easily go over the helmet if you fancy a change from a plain helmet.
Front baskets
Perfect for picnics, baskets are big news at Tweed Run. This one by British makers, Brooks are made from metal with a wooden base and a leather grip. They can hold a lot of sandwiches (and Pimms).
Saddle bags
Bobbin Leather Saddle Bag £74.99
Saddle bags are great for when you want a swift ride and don’t want to be laden down with. This Bobbin one is the perfect size for keeping all the things in that would ordinarily fall out of your pockets.
Pannier bags
Bike Belle Klist Fold Up Pannier £61.99
Pannier bags come in all shapes and sizes. This vintage style army green canvas bag with leather straps is very smart. It’s also water repellant with a padded laptop compartment.
Penny Farthings
Kelly Connor ‘I Wheelie Love You’ Mug £12.25
For the ultimate in vintage cycle style look no further than the penny farthing. We’ll definitely be cracking out this mug and having a cup of tea while we go through this year’s pictures. We can’t wait.
