Today is the last day of our celebration of International Women’s day. Here are the last three women we would like to talk about…
We spotted the Meame project on a Facebook post and told them that it would be great if they were to contact us once their range was ready to go. Few months later, we met Megan and were super impressed by the fantastic cuts and technical aspects of her jackets.
She says: “I started MEAME with the mission to improve style, safety and performance of clothing – suitable for active lifestyles. I wanted to encourage more women to get into cycling and not let clothing be a barrier. Safety is the number 1 fear that stops people cycling, yet surprisingly so few people wear hi-vis. With her background in tech textiles – she knew that stylish and discreet reflective were possible – it was just the case of creating them. “
We spotted Tracey Neuls fabulous shoes online and immediately started pestering them to be part of our range (it helped that they had a shop round the corner from our office. We had never sold shoes before but we knew that their bike shoe collection, with integrated reflective details would be perfect for Cyclechic. Luckily they agreed and every time they come up with a new design we get all excited!
They say: “Since launching the label in 2000, Tracey Neuls footwear designs have become synonymous for their uniqueness and distinctive silhouettes. Each shoe component has been originally sculpted by Neuls herself. This is very rare, creating atelier quality, craftsmanship and individuality in a world where this often overlooked. With over 30 collections to date, Neuls is a true expert in shoe design. Once sold, a style is not made again, making these limited edition shoes like wearable collector’s items. Neuls’ two boutiques in London’s Marylebone and Shoreditch have an international following for showcasing exhibitions and collaborations while shoes hang from the ceiling, the brand’s instantly recognisable and celebrated display. Tracey Neuls footwear bridges design, art and fashion, always offering a shoe that is as beautiful as it feels.”
We introduced Urban Legend’s jacket in 2014 after spotting them online. We were delighted to eventually meet Zsofi at a Spin festival later on. Her jacket in black was our best seller last year in the coat and jacket category so clearly customers like her work too!
She says: “UrbanLegend is a brand created for passionate women who are not afraid of pouring rain or snow on the road, who know the labyrinth of their city as the back of their hands. Combining the best quality sportswear fabrics and practical details with feminine cuts and ergonomic design UrbanLegend products are designed and handcrafted without compromise. Designed and produced exclusively in Budapest, Hungary.”
